they were...it was in college.a while ago. racist and antisemitic jokes were big then..no idea why though. but I still get comments from people. I was buying hanukkah gelt, and the cashier said, "but you don't look jewish" and laughed. I need to be better about saying something back..I'm just always caught off guard, and freeze.
Holy fuck the cashier O_o Those things always catch me off guard too though I understand you. Like, one of my colleagues who is, I think French, told me that I didn't look and sound Turkish and I looked British. I was like "What do you mean? Do I look stuffy, white, and inbred?" Then I learned it was supposed to be a "compliment."
crap I'm sorry ya'll. I'm just trying to show examples of what people have said to me in the past..and it still happens, so seeing a comment worded like that, made by a major public figure just makes me nervous because it can bring out the bigots..in his case, I think it was a mistake but yeah. I have a lot of stories lol. 2020 gave me time to stop and process everything, and that was when I kinda really stopped communicating with these people. I just need to learn to speak up better in the moment and not take it anymore.
See what I don’t understand, we’re allegedly christ killers and all, but Christians are happily munching away on his body and blood so like,,,,, et tu cannibals?
Whenever I've heard this used I just rolled my eyes bc generally a person alludes to them being a good person and generally they are not.
