Lizzo’s lawyer provides TMZ with 'Watch Out for the Big Grrrls' Season 2 audition tape from Arianna Davis, one of the three alleged victims in the lawsuit against her.
The tape was recorded after the events she claims to have experienced while on tour with Lizzo. https://t.co/CtRLYFwVgx - Pop Crave (@PopCrave) August 3, 2023
I wish I could believe her because this crushes me so much but it sounds like a lot of gaslighting, and considering how many people have come out, even outside of her dancers...yeah
There's a lot of side stepping and talking around the accusations in that. That might be for legal reasons, but it doesn't do much to answer or deny the allegations, IMO.
It's definitely for legal reasons but this is one of the clunkiest statements I've seen. I don't think saying I wouldn't do X because people have done X to me is going to work legally or with the public.
I had the cbs morning news show on in the background while I was making oatmeal, and they were discussing this. Gayle said she was proud of Lizzo for standing up for herself and that she couldn't believe the allegations. that struck me as incredibly unprofessional
personally, I believe the dancers. I think the accusations are believable. it would be career suicide to sue her if it wasn't true -- probably career suicide anyway if they win or settle out of court. plus this entire process is bound to be emotionally traumatic. and unless they have someone representing them pro-bono, they're fucked financially for however long this case takes -- it could be years
