I watched Inside yesterday, and I'm still thinking about it. The role wouldn't have worked with a lesser actor.

I just saw that! I liked how being trapped in that modern art/tech nightmare mimicked surviving in the wilderness

I really want to see Talk to Me, but my husband is really not down for horror movies lol. So I miiiight take myself out to see it, but also not great with horrors in a theatre vs at home when I can take a break and cuddle my cat when it gets too intense.

Have you seen any of the spoiler-free reviews about the movie? I usually love horror but I'm dipping on this one, based on thematic spoilers alone. I'm scared it might rock my head too badly tbh.

We watched They Cloned Tyrone last night. Glad we saw it, but I didn't love it. Teyonah Parris was super funny and definitely the acting standout for me, and I liked the ideas they hit on, but the script was really underbaked, even for an homage/satire sort of film. I do think it was stylistically interesting, but I wish it wasn't quite so dim - felt like I had to squint through half of it.

Still dying to see Oppenheimer, M:I, and Theater Camp, and now I can add Talk to Me to that list. But even though I'm now negative for COVID (yay), my husband tested positive (booooooo), with his only symptom being a stuffy nose. Aughhh. Hoping he tests negative ASAP so we can finally go see some films!!

Seeing Talk to Me tomorrow. I think my screening is nearly full, so I'm excited. A packed theater for a horror movie is always fun for me. Its the only time I enjoy people reacting out loud in the theater. Any other type of movie, its an annoyance lol.

I watched most of Triangle of Sadness last night because it's on Hulu, and...her.gif? Getting all those awards and nominations? Maybe the ending really makes it worthwhile but I found the first part completely pointless, and most of the [Spoiler (click to open)]time on the boat kind of meandering and dragged on for too long. I turned it off to go to bed when they find the big lifeboat with the supplies inside, so like I said maybe it really gets good after that?

Dolly's role? I know some people were annoyed by her character because they expected her to be this nice lil woman but honestly she SERVED nasty bxtch SO well to me!
But yeah the last third could have been like 20 minutes shorter...and honestly wasn't even necessary to include it but I did enjoy parts of it

I don't think I've gotten far enough to see that, so I'm not criticizing her specifically, but I mean nominations for the movie as a whole. Jesus the whole section with [Spoiler (click to open)]Carl and Yaya arguing about a dinner bill seemed pointless unless there's some sort of clever callback to it at the end.
