Carlee Russell's attorney confirms she was not kidnapped nor did she ever see a child wandering alone on the side of a highway:

On July 13th 2023 Carlee Russell was abducted from the side of Interstate 459 when she said she stopped to check on a toddler walking alone. She had called 911 but then vanished. Two days later Russell showed up alone at her parents' home.
Her attorney now confirms she was not kidnapped nor did she ever see a child wandering alone on the side of a highway.
“We ask for your prayers for Carlee as she addresses her issues and intends to move understanding that she made a mistake. Carlee again asks for your forgiveness and prayers.”

So far, no charges have been filed against Russell but they are discussing possible charges.
