I think they do, it's just some people assume the other person will change their minds or they can get them to which is obviously not going to work most of the time. Also some people change their minds in the opposite direction, think they want kids and then decide against it.

That statement is clearly PR but as someone who's friends with a bunch of artists, joie de vivre is absolutely 100% a thing they say, along with je ne sais quoi & elan (i know it doesn't sound like it but my friends are great, I swear lol)
