Tennis player Alexander Zverev, currently the 19th best tennis player in the world, has been accused of domestic abuse for the second time.

Ironically a lot of his sponsors dropped him post the initial accusations and a bunch had just started using him in advertising again when this happened. Wonder what they'll do now.

Does anyone better with German law explain what happens if the penalty order is issue and he pays the fine? Is that a criminal record?

Doesn't say so in the reports so I guess it won't be. Charges are only on your criminal records if you serve longer than 3 months in prison or pay a fine that is more than 90 days of daily income (that's how they calculate fines here)

Thanks, I was trying to assess if the high amount meant it was a severe incident, but it seems like they say it's related to the person's income and severity, so it could just be high because he's worth like $30 million.

I was wondering if he takes the fine if this is issued to avoid incident, but if he did and it would give him a criminal record it would affect the countries he could go to and essentially shunt him off being in serious contention on the tour.

Hoping that the fact he hasn't been dominant at all this year makes them reconsider, like there are too many newer, interesting guys in play to try to protect.
