It reminded me of the dumb dudebro white nonsense films of the 2000s like Euro Trip and Superbad but it's with Asian cast and PoC aren't used as punchlines, there aren't any racist (yt ppl dont count because reverse racism isn't a thing in our reality) and homophobic "jokes".

The ending was kinda rushed but other than that it was perfect 10/10, it's my favourite film of the summer so far and I'll be seeing it again with friends this weekend.

Every media staring PoC doesn't have to be a flawless masterpiece, we deserve to have dumb and entertaining films/shows too. There were like 5 Hangover films and wtf was the point of them? At least Joy Kill has a heart among all the dick jokes.

definitely here for joy ride! hope i can see it soon.

i recently watched nimona. the eponymous character was very OTT but overall i thought it was funny and i liked the story.

i also watched heavy trip because it was on my netflix dvd list (😭) and the expiration date for that list is coming soon! it was goofy but worth a watch if you don't mind films like that.

i hate that netflix dvd is going away. i thought physical media was making a come back? please say psych, netflix!

Nimona was great, I can't believe netflix got their hands on something like this with their talent to axe anything good they can find.

I watched The Sum of Us and loved it, it was both happier and sadder than I expected.
