can we plz come up with better inclusive language than "birthing people," it sounds like an underclass in a dystopian novel. "anyone who can get pregnant" or something similar would be so better and less robotic/dehumanizing.

anyway this song is terrible but i respect that she's so outspoken

idk how to say this without sounding like an asshole (which is not my intention, but we all have room to grow), but i think we may have gone a touch too far in trying to be inclusive. women who were afab are the majority of people who give birth and i personally don't see an issue in utilizing that word when addressing/talking about people who get pregnant. as a woman (afab) i'd prefer 'women and others who can give birth' when discussing the topic.

yeah i think that's fair, it's inclusive but also acknowledges that this primarily affects women!

i also just think birthing person is particularly bad, especially for abortion rights. like uh, the point is that someone who is pregnant should not be forced to carry the pregnancy to BIRTH aka they are not a "birthing person"

yeah, and adding to what you said, removing the notion of "woman" from abortion rights language contributes to ignoring the fact that so many pro-life positions are sexist, so we really do need a more active reminder of the "women" factor in there.
