Lol Avengers Assemble!!!

Scorsese is probably the Captain America, Spielberg is Iron Man. Tarantino if he gets involved would be the Hulk. PTA for Black Widow?

Zaslav is obvs Thanos cause he really snapping content out of existence lol 🫰🏼

Taking doen TCM is a cruel and evil move. It's a historic channel that's educational as well.

I've spent a lot of time in hospitals due to health shit and given the amount of elderly folks there, I'm always mad they don't have TCM. I also adore TCM as well. It's the only TV channel I'd watch if I had a TV.

Honestly, who knows what's gonna happen to it at this point.

They spent over a billion bucks this year on 4 flops and are trying to sell things to Netflix again. He's canned unreleased films for a tax write off.

Zaslav sucks

this new guy "ran" TCM from November 2019 to July 2020, which is the back half of a fiscal year that had already been planned out by his predecessor. not much significant running of TCM would have happened when he was there.

the bulk of his experience is with running CN related things, which has a wildly different business model and function than Turner Classic Movies does. rolling TCM in with those entities and reducing their independence in the company at large isn't a good sign. no one who's an expert/specializes in classic film is excited about this change lol

I don't know what the commenter above is thinking. Cutting that much senior staff at one time at any company would be a bellwether and cause for concern. It doesn't matter that this other guy was there for a few short months, particularly when he's also running other channels.

I don’t really watch TCM but my dad would be so devastated if it went away and I’m so angry about it. Maybe I should subscribe to it just to support it lol (and actually watch stuff on there, I really should).
