I insisted that I had to read the book before I watched the show. I ended up hating the book so much, I had no interest in watching the show.

I recently was thinking about this show and how after it aired it’s like it had never happened, it never gets talked about, almost like it was a fever dream (which in many ways, it was)

I feel that way with a lot of binged shows. Although i can't remember if this aired once a week or all at once. I feel like for me at least when i watch one episode a week, i tend to digest it more and rewatch it more as well so it sticks with me longer. When i binge shows, i enjoy them in the moment, but tend to forget them in the longterm.

i watched it fairly recently, like about 6 months ago? and the only plotline i still recall from time to time is the subplot of the family whose son had died. i actually thought that was really compelling, but the rest of the characters are a blur to me.

also melissa mccarthy was really charismatic in it but i have to stop and remember what her story arc actually was

I wish Melissa would work with people people other than her husband because she really was charismatic in this.

Really??? I feel like this got entirely eclipsed by White Lotus. And they're not even that similar AFAIK, just the ensemble cast at an ~exotic location with dark backstories or whatever. S1 was so forgettable, sry2say. But this cast is solid, so...?

i'm not even an actor but he's like my personal hero. working steadily but lowkey for decades and then he gets a role in what's supposed to just be a limited run covid-makes-it-difficult-to-film-but-we-gotta-make-content-somehow show, then bing bang boom he's winning awards and booked and busy.

All while being genuinely kind, he's so easy to root for!
