No way! I have CVID - it's pretty rare (I've only met one other person with it, and that was in hospital). I didn't get diagnosed until I was 32, and had already had sepsis 4 times.

That sounds scary. Are there effective treatments for CVID?

Yes, it can be managed with regular infusions of immunoglobulin (the part of the blood that fights infections). I got to the hospital every three weeks for an IV drip of it; other people inject sub-cutaneously every week at home.

I'm lucky because I'm not in America - an American doctor friend of mine told me that the home treatment (so, meds alone, without the bed in the hospital, nurses time, etc) cost $4000 a week...and that was six or seven years ago, so I can only imagine it's gone up.

American healthcare is such a disgrace.
I’m glad it can be managed, and I wish you continued good health.

I was just scrolling and read that she had covid and was like "that can't be right" but that sounds like a really scary condition.

I was diagnosed with diabetes and multiple sclerosis in 2022 and while I can life fine with diabetes, I am just kind of scared about MS because no one knows what will happen and I do feel worse since they found out I had it in September.

Omg a close friend of mine also got severe complications from freezing her eggs. Something with the hormone treatment triggered an unknown immuno disease that started attacking her own body. She's almost all better now, but I think it was over 3 years of illness, being immuno-compromised during 2020 covid, medications causing her to blow up in size, moonface, losing ability of her wrists and one leg, etc. This woman was an athlete too, and suddenly I was helping her wheel around on a scooter. Immune system illness is so scary. I never knew it was a possibility from freezing the eggs. I hope Kesha stays safe and healthy.

I feel like Kesha has really been put through the wringer over this past decade... I hope things start to get better for her.

Same. I'm hoping it's only up from here.
