Man, I miss the early-mid 00's when the big studio spectacles at SDCC were an event.

Same! I remember I used to camp on Twitter when The Flash was at SDCC. I always wish I could go and see them lol.

Even though it's more theme-park oriented, they miiiiight at D23 in September.

D23 isn't happening this year, it's bi-annual

Destination D23 is happening this year but it's a much smaller and exclusive event focused on core Disney shit and not so much the other branches

Last I heard they were recasting because the actors they were eyeing blew the budget up. It’s just a rumor tho so idk if that’s true.

Is this the beginning of SDCC being more oriented towards comics again, not flashy studios?

Hopefully, tbh.

I'll be curious to see what happens. I volunteer in the Exhibitor Registration department, so I'll be interested to see who is there this year vs last. Been attending every year for about 15 years and it seemed like there weren't nearly as many big studios, TV, or movie reps there than there were previously.

last year definitely seemed way more chill than it's been in years. It was weird not seeing as many cosplayers as usual.

I kind of assumed it is because studios have a lot of money to lose if someone with the company, especially an actor, catches Covid. I wonder what the mask policy will be there this year.

I'd be shocked if there even is gonna be one. AX has made no mention of it at all so clearly it's gonna up to the individual, I imagine SDCC is prob gonna do the same.
