I know money and all but there's absolutely no reason for Wicked to be a two parter. The play is long but it's very Disney-like so it kinda flies (no pun intended) by, plus there are bits that could easily be cut (like a LOT of the annoying ass goat teacher).

Exactly. I enjoy the musical, but always skip his song. The wizard’s Sentimental Man can also be shortened.

This is making me wonder if the Linklater 20+ year musical project is affected by the writers strike.

Also, didn't know they were splitting wicked up in two parts? why is this necessary for a musical? I really hope this doesn't start an unneccessary trend like how the YA last movie in a trilogy gets split up did.
