I just read the short blurb since i can't watch right now but my mind immediately went to the movie The 6th Day aka They Cloned Ahhhhnold.

Yeah lol and the entire premise basically is that he uncovered a conspiracy to clone a football player and they killed him (so they thought) and cloned him to cover up that they cloned a paralyzed football quarterback. Or that might just be a subplot it came out 23 years ago. They kept cloning the clone assassins every time they fucked up assassinating someone though.
