I dipped out of the Transformers movies after 3 and attempted to get back into it with this one since it had the Maximals. I was reminded why I stopped with this franchise.

The Maximals are all but paid dust. They were given absolutely nothing in this movie except bringing that crystal to Earth. No real showcase of power, what makes them stand apart, why they are already in these Beast modes, and they only transform once which you don't even really see what their transformer modes look like.

Once again it is made into a boys club.

thank you for the write up. I was planning on seeing it since the trailer they played focused heavily on the Maximals so I wanted to see it. Doubt I will bother now.

Yeah. I saw the first teaser trailer a long ass time ago and completely forgot about it just that fast. When I realized the movie was released a couple days ago, the only reason I remembered the teaser trailer was because of Anthony Ramos lol that goes to show how much the franchise has plummeted 😬

Bumblebee was good, though.
