I feel for Drew but I'm also not surprised. I remember watching a bit of her interview with Brooke Shields. They both related to the fact that their moms used to get things. Brooke said when she would work, then they'd get nice things like a car and Drew said similar.

Jaid def exploited Drew's family dynasty to get places.

I was watching Oprah, and you can tell she had no tolerance for BS and did not like her mom because she was so direct and short with her. Even I was like, "Girl, where the fuck were you when your daughter was going through all this shit?" You can see Drew didn't even look at her mom until Oprah asked her how someone as privileged as her who had it all could be so depressed. Drew did a quick take and looked at her mom. Everything Drew saw in herself makes me wonder how much of it was said to her by Jaid because narcissistic parents sometimes project their own insecurities onto their children. I'm glad she's okay, but my goodness. I get she's resilient, but fuck. It's not easy. Based on what Brooke shared, I also got the impression her mom was, too. I also think Mariah Carey's mom is one, too, from reading her memoir. I don't blame her for cutting ties with her, too.

There's nothing wrong with feeling that way, I wish my mom was dead. And sometimes I fantasize about finding her (she's in hiding) and pushing her into a lake but because she's such an awful person, she'd probably laugh at me just before she died, to spite me.

Her history with her mom just reads as abuse, so I don't fault her for feeling this way. I cut people off my life when it reaches that stage (I did with my sister) but it's not an easy thing to do

She has a shitty mom but I doubt all of her friends did, so that reads as insensitive to me.
Sometimes it's better to talks about your shit without involving third parties.

lol this is why I don’t talk about my parents anymore, I’ve def gotten myself in similar situations. Like to me it’s clear she’s only referring to *her* relationship with *her* mom but I understand that it can be upsetting to people who love their parents :/
