Tik tok user "theservicespaniel" has a made a video accusing actress Sydney Sweeney of putting a fake service animal vest around her dog so she can take it wherever she wants. To be fair, this doesn’t just apply to celebrities. I know a lot of people who got their dog certified as a service dog just because they’re entitled and want to be able to bring their dog everywhere.

I loathed that about the PNW and now it's almost everywhere. These people's dogs are horrendously behaved and if I'm inside a restaurant i should NOT be hearing barking. NEVER. I should not ever have an animal next to me. I will never be okay with that. Keep that drooling, loud canines that your lazy ass never trained at home (where it can't hurt anyone) and keep it there ( ... )

There was like... one farmers market in my local area that was dog free and they've given up because people where always whinging about not being able to bring their dogs so, there goes the last market I was really able to go to. I get that people love their pets and whatever but there is plenty of options that are pet friendly that you can go to, you don't have to impose yourself onto literally everything. People are horrendously careless with their pets too. It's always "oh... he'll never bite anyone, he's so friendly!" No. He's an animal and if he gets scared he could very likely bite a child!

And I will never understand people having indoor cats.... how is it normal to keep a pet inside all the time? *Raises hand* I have an indoor cat. As all cats should be in Australia (unless they have like... a closed in run/backyard etc) because they kill a ridiculous amount of native wildlife. She does get regular supervised outings in the backyard but even in that time she nearly managed to catch a baby bird last year. Our feral cat/dog ( ... )

Ahh good to know, did not know odor cats are in danger tbh. Thank you. In rural Russia they're always outside.

I would say there's probably a generous amount of Australians who probably think that cats should be able to come and go as they please but most local government areas have bans on cats being out at night which is the least, it's been a slow go at changing the culture of pet ownership and how we manage introduced species here. Australia has the highest rate of animal extinction in the world and a lot of that can be put directly at the feet of cats in the past. And of course, there's the stuff that's going to hurt them. Snakes. Cars.

The indoor cat thing took me a while to get too because I thought they must be so much happier outside but keeping them as inside cats basically doubles their life span since they are much safer and also helps protect vulnerable wildlife

Not everyone has the space to do so, but I think the ideal middle ground is when you can build your cat a fully meshed in outdoor play area

Thank you, this makes sense to me. That's exactly what I thought making this comment - that it's depriving them. Thanks for being civil and educational.

Don’t worry about it babes! We’ve all been victim to the ONTD pile on and most people will forget by tomorrow ❤️

Thanks! 💛 But I won't forget tbh. To be so cruel so fast and so much after having prior interactions is a terrible reflection on someone's character.

If everyone left their cats outside like you apparently want, birds of the world would experience a mass extinction event.

I keep my cats indoors because I love them and want to keep them alive...
