Who they gettin all these babies from??? Thats number one, number two-and I know this question might anger some people. but it's a valid question. I gotta ask it. Why is it two sons??? Whys everybody always want a son?? I just seen a video of a mother absolutely PISSED at her gender reveal showing she's having a daughter. Like? I'm sorry. What exactly is going on here?? Since when do we suddenly think like China, what's with the anti-daughterness I'm seeing lately. Do they think because they're both men they can't 'handle' a daughter as if daughters are mystically magically harder to raise then a son?? Maybe it wasnt up to them though, maybe it just happened to be a son both times. ...but I just?? I feel like there's a bit of sexism going on here, past the surrogacy part.

Wait, what do you mean by "why is it two sons"? Did they have a choice?? Are people selecting embryos based on gender??😳

There's no evidence that they are in this case, but like it's definitely possible to select for sex when it comes to using a surrogate with donor eggs. You would just only implant the embryos of the sex you want.

Damn, this is so disturbing! For some reason I thought gender selection was illegal

Recently I’ve been getting some ads on Reddit for becoming a surrogate. And like I have GOT to wonder what it is in my data that they’re mining that makes them think surrogacy is a good targeted ad for me. Lol. (To be fair to reddit though it’s not on the actual site because I use ad blockers. But it’s on the app I use for Reddit on my phone. And Idk if it’s an official app or a third party. Lol)

Are you white?

Oui. Is it that a thing that people want white women to carry the baby? If it’s a donor egg why would it matter? I assumed most surrogacies involved donor eggs.

On a related note when I was in college I went to a school that was very white and East Asian in its demographics and our school newspaper CONSTANTLY had big ads in it to be an egg donor. With stuff like “earn $10,000!” in massive font which is crazy insidious for teens/young adults who have likely just taken out massive student loans. And iirc the ads always said something about submitting pictures of yourself with your application? Given that I went to ucla which is a pretty well respected university it was clear they were fishing for certain things in the DNA they were after.

Maternal death rates for AA women are horrific, but I have a feeling that isn't why. :(
