Absolutely yes lol. Like not end of the world but I’m seeing this later today and it would’ve been a nice surprise but oh well.

I thought it was widely known since they released her film still awhile ago...oops

I didn't know about it until I was seated in the theater but I still wouldn't really consider it a spoiler.

how did the underwater shots look? I heard they werent very immersive & im not surprised. underwater is notoriously hard to do & disney remakes arent exactly known for their polished cgi

It was fine for the most part but one of the most noticeable things was the lack of anything other than the characters we knew in the scene. Like you'd expect some fish swimming around in the distance or something but it was just all blue!
I think Under The Sea was great but could've been better if there weren't just loads of the same creatures in each shot. It just looked like a copy paste job from the animators.

Yeah it looked ....well, like a soundstage bc it was so empty.

I couldn’t get into it with Eric looks-wise, he always looked a little sloppy to me. And in his musical solo number he legit looked drunk wiggling around on those cliffsides lol

Expect him to break into Bet On It tbh

The cameo was cute.

Really liked the movie, despite its flaws. The chemistry was amazing I want ten movies of Halle and Jonah making eyes at each other.

Also justice for "For the First Time" loved the song and the scene.

[Spoiler (click to open)]My main criticisms:

- Halle deserved to wear more outfits, I can't believe Disney missed an opportunity to sell more dolls.
- Wanted more of her sisters tbh. And less Triton, Javier phoned it in.
- The ending was kinda weird? It felt rushed and the battle with Ursula was disappointing. Which is a surprise because the OTHER night stormy scene was wonderfully made.
- Yes, the cgi was off in some parts and it was weirdly lit. Disney hire tumblr gif editors I beg you.
- Flounder's weirdness was saved by his stellar voice actor and Sebastian grew on me. Scuttlefina was tolerable but gosh she can't sing for shit, stop casting her in things.

Would love to see it again tbh. Halle alone is worth multiple watches.

Not being able to sing is part of Scuttle’s character tbf!

LOVED “For the First Time”, it gave me a new perspective of Ariel that I wish the animated film explored

Good point.

(still, there are other people Disney!!!)

It was so good and it's been on repeat since the OST was released.

The ending was weird like [Spoiler (click to open)] she shouldn't be concerned with missing anybody considering her sisters all rule oceans all over the world???

This movie was super cute. Halle was lovely and the highlight by far. I thought her chemistry with Jonah Hauer King was very sweet and I liked that they gave him a backstory and that they attempted to show why he and Ariel were so drawn to each other. The scene where [Spoiler (click to open)]she’s helping him figure out her name by showing him the constellation was adorable and one of my fave scenes in the movie

Javier Bardem…was there lol. The movie wasn’t perfect, but it was cute and the little girls in the theater LOVED it. They were audibly squealing every time Halle was on the screen and whenever Ariel and Eric would have ~a moment lol 💕

Re, your spoilers: I haven't seen it yet but I browsed r/movies discussion thread for the movie and read about that changed scene, I thought it was really sweet 🥺
