people are thinking about this wrt how long an actor would be stuck making these cookie cutter movies. *but* being in contract for a shit ton of movies also probably locks talent in for a fee that's disproportionately low to their popularity level as time goes on and they make a bigger name for themselves and become more well known. that has to be disney's main motivation

That’s the norm if you sign up for franchises. Some people were thinking this was a MCU invention but actors inntv or movies occasionally regret signing for long-contracts since it closes up other options for them due to scheduling conflicts. It’s the nature of the beast.
