I loved that the over-arching love story of the show was Midge and Susie :)
Amy Sherman-Palladino has her flaws, but I appreciate how she centers female relationships of all kinds in her show. I think that's a big part of what makes her shows so cozy.
Glad they nailed the finale. It was always about Midge and Susie, their friendship and love for one another. Was not a fan of the flash forwards through the season as it seemed clunky but it made sense now that I see the big picture. The Lenny Bruce scenes got me, the fortune, his down fall. Glad they didn’t go to his death direction and kept it open ended, you can see what he meant to Midge. He was there for her four minutes and rightfully so, that gave me a teary eye when it played out. Kudos to her final set, perfect, started and ended the whole series with a memorable comedic set. Wishing the best for Rachel after this show, hope she stays relevant and becomes a bigger star.
they have such great chemistry! i would just be down to see them work together again in something where their characters can actually end up together lol. i'm genuinely shocked luke kirby isn't being asked to do more romantic lead roles. the man really knows how to look at his love interest. asp better put that to good use since he's the lead of her new show.
