When the adults started drawing cards, I thought Van would try to be noble and volunteer to be the sacrifice since her cancer is terminal and she doesn't have long to live.
You know Van believes her cancer has been cured now. It will be interesting to see which way they go with that. Is she cured? Was she never sick to begin with, just made it up to get Tai to go to Lottie's with her? Is she still sick and believes she needs to spill more blood to be cured?
i love that personally because i feel like so many female characters aren't allowed to be unlikable, but yeah she being shady as fuck. She enables dark Tai a lot in both timelines.
Whew all the needle drops this episode were so fire! Echo & The Bunnymen <3 The Cranberries <3
I hope Coach Ben becomes a wilderness survivalist somehow and lives to a nice old age. I hope he's actually the one that sent the postcards.
Did anyone else feel like Walter convincing Saracusa to go along with the story is actually going to backfire on Saracusa when they do an autopsy on Kevyn and realize he has phenobarbital in his system. It makes Saracusa look guilty as fuck. Maybe Walter killed two birds with one stone.
I feel like they rushed Natalie's storyline because Juliette Lewis didn't want to be on the show anymore. I'm annoyed because Teen Nat is one of my fave characters and it would have been interesting to see her arc as an adult, but oh well. We can still enjoy her in the 90's timeline.
Thanks Silverstarry for making these posts all season long, you're the best!
i haven't seen the most recent episode, just the one from last week, but i was confused by something. when they do the card selection thing and natalie loses and they all hunt her -- where did that come from? like was that a ritual that they had agreed upon in another episode that i had missed? it felt so abrupt to go from "we will eat dead bodies if they pop up" to "we will choose one among us to slaughter" to the extent that when they were all picking cards, i had no idea what the significance was or where it was going until natalie tried to escape. did i miss something?
i dont think they ever explained it before then, the lead up was that lottie had hallucinated the queen card so you could kind of piece together the significance
lottie brought up how she wanted them to use her body so i think they got we must sacrifice one for the rest (not lottie tho 😜) but i wish we got a reaction and little moral fight before the card game
I feel like even just one more episode would have made this season flow better. I really hope they have a solid 5 season plan cause it doesn't really feel like it right now.
I'm so upset about Natalie. :(
Ben burning down the cabin was hilarious to me idek why. That and teen Shauna writing in her journal after not being chosen as leader.
I didn't like season 1 as much as everyone else until I rewatched it so maybe that will happen again with this one?
Shauna scribbling in her journal about not being chosen made me laugh/cringe because they’re stranded in the woods and drawing cards to murder and eat each other but what she was most upset about was Lottie crowning Nat as the new leader.
Shauna's "I can't believe they didn't pick me to be the leader now that we're killing each other, clearly I am the most appropriate option, why does no one see me??" is such a take.
Girl, you literally just almost beat someone to death, and it was largely bc of your hallucinations. Yes, she did the, um, food preparation, but I honestly kinda saw that as penance for Lottie. Those are not leadership skills exactly, madam!
