Last night, Iam Tongi was crowned the winner of the 21st season of American Idol. He is the first American Idol winner from Hawaii and has been a fan favorite since his viral audition where he did a cover of James Blunt's 'Monsters' in honor of his deceased father. During the finale, James Blunt joined Iam to sing it with him

I'm really glad he won. I haven't watched Idol in a while, so I missed out on seeing the competition in its entirety, but that's an emotional song to sing.
