Tbf the ones who spread that news was Daily Loud despite the fact that his family had not put any other statement.

DL claims reminded me a bit of when TMZ claimed that Lil Wayne was basically on his deathbed and requesting last rites when he was hospitalized only for him to cuss them out later.

She probably wanted to let him recuperate and let him speak on his own terms.

The info about preparing from the worst allegedly came from an IG account that touts itself as a top notch authority on Black culture, but is run by an almost completely White staff. No actual family member is confirmed to have spoken to them.

The idea that "she should have told us sooner and people wouldn't be making up shit" is goofy. There's no excuse or even a reason to spread information that may not be true, OR for people to rush to believe that information simply because the family didn't give 100% transparent information about his medical condition. That's such a toxic, parasocial, weird as fuck way of thinking.

THIS is an official statement made publicly FROM a member of his family. Why would "the truth" possibly be some random blurbs online with no names attached? lol

Jamie is obviously entitled to his medical privacy and the public isn't owed details, but it's to be expected that when the information is as vague as "went to hospital due to medical situation" that people are going to speculate.

Speculation is "what could it be?" not "His family is said to be preparing for the worst".

One is a generic "we don't know, so we ask" the other is an actual claim with no proof behind it being uttered by a family member.

The claims are coming from "media" sources with no known associations with the family. People using their silence (aka: time to recuperate before making a statement) as a way to release seemingly false information is in no way acceptable, even if it's to be expected.
