"ould watch this version’s Under the Sea all day, it was the highlight of the whole thing."

Hell yes.

"My problem with #TheLittleMermaid is how little respect the movie shows the original film in the credits. When you list the screenwriter of the new movie before mentioning Ron Clements & John Musker you’ve crossed a line."

That sounds more like a legal thing and less not acknowledging where you came from.

The entire reason these live action films exist is so they can continue to stiff the writers and animators of the originals by not having to appropriately credit (and subsequently pay) them, so it's quite germaine with what's happening right now with the WGA strike too.

I'm glad this is looking good and lots of praise and love for Halle and Daveed. I really want this movie to do well.

It’s the best, but still mediocre?

When you compare it to the other disney adaptions - it's the best one.

When you look at it as just a film - it's mediocre.

All the others are also mediocre films, this one is slightly above them.

I’ve never been a fan of Les Poissons so not really sad to see it go but hopefully they got something to replace Daughters of Triton. Yet I can understand them cutting that if they expand the roles of Ariel’s sisters.

“the best Disney movie adaption yet“

I’m pretty sure this is said about every Disney live-action before release.

Yeah I’m gonna wait till I hear what the YT film critics I watch have to say about it before I spend 20 bucks.

First reactions are almost always OTT unless it's a truly horrendous movie. Thor: L&T's first reactions were great too lmao.
