Having kids that old is so selfish. It sucks to watch your parents age and fall apart when you're still young, and having to take care of them is a huge burden.

Is that confirmed?

I'm legit asking because 1. Idk anything about medicine etc and 2. I wouldn't be surprised if biology was that unfair to women lol. Like if we have to wrestle a lot of things just to even think about having kids and men can just have healthy kids whenever, I guess today I'm feeling pessimistic enough to be like "yeah that checks out"

It is confirmed that the risks get higher after 40, and that advanced paternal age contributes more to mutations in a fetus, such as trisomies, than advanced maternal age. AMA makes it harder on a mom, and, consequently CAN put both mom and baby at risk, but doesn't seem to affect genetics as much.

idk if it's confirmed but research seems to heavily suggest that older sperm carry a higher quality of birth defects.
