*I wanted to add an '(other)' here but worried it would come across too Edgy Atheist. Although I am an atheist, I don't mean all religions are cults, but the specific brand of evangelical bullshit that Pratt etc subscribe to may as well be one. I'm not American but my then-gf introduced me to the work of Tad Delay, who wrote a book about white evangelicalism that was fucking insane and terrifying. He has a short series of podcast episodes that basically serve as cliffnotes/marginalia for the book, too, which is great.

I hate that I grew up in that and used to feel like that myself. Like, I was the cringiest teenager and the internet cane around at such a good time for me because it was really an eyeopener for outside of the evangelical mindset.

I was in my coworker's car once and she saw a sticker of a flying spaghetti monster that said Evolution and she went off on a rant about how Christians with the sign of the fish on their cars are persecuted by people with stickers like that.
