But there is a difference between sexy and sex scenes I would assume?

It sounds like she didn't want to audition for a role that had to be sexy. Here's the whole quote:

“I don’t do sex scenes. In fact, I was supposed to audition for the most recent season of your show. My character was supposed to be quite sexy, and I pulled out of the audition, because I am so shy about anything sexy that I can’t,” Jamil said on the podcast.

That sounds super reasonable.

I remember an actress talking about having a no nudity clause in her contract and then when she showed up on set the director changed their mind and tried manipulating her into it by talking about all the crew and other people working on the film that she was holding up by not wanting to do it.

I could imagine jameela not wanting to be put in a situation like that so just nipping it all in the bud.
idk if this show is like that but there are so many pervs behind the scenes.

I know she likes to overshare, but good for her for knowing her boundaries.

Good for anyone not doing sex scenes if they genuinely don't want to.

I still disagree when people say all sex scenes are unnecessary in shows or movies. I'd find it silly if films started reverting to the old Hollywood kiss + 'fade to black'. Some scenes are gratuitous (I find the ones in Industry to be over the top) but sometimes sex scenes are relevant to the plot/character development.

I don't have an issue with sex scenes at all, but in the last decade, so much has come out about actors being pressured to do scenes and/or being unprotected when the scenes were filmed. Given that, I don't think it's a surprise that many would rather just scrap the scenes all together especially when a lot of them are not sexy because studios don't know how to do chemistry reads anymore.

I haven’t watched You since season one, but it cracks me up that everyone said *insert ANTMjade.gif* to sex scenes this season.
