i was going to say the cast seems like such a random mix, but tina fey was really the only appearance that took me out of the trailer completely so maybe it's just her. i did think kelly reilly was annabelle wallis for about half the trailer?

Those two could play sisters easily.

Kenneth Branagh should face criminal charges for what he does to Poirot.

However I will still watch it lmao. The first one was all terrible (But I enjoyed seeing JD die) but the second one had a much more 'interesting' death scene with the wheel of the steamboat. The rest was meh. Anyway the visuals are great but everything else is totally off.

Also Halloween Party is a really good book. Interesting to see the setting changed to Venice. I will re-read the book and re-watch the appropriate version with my love David Suchet.

Halloween Party is such an overlooked Christie. I think it was so fun and I enjoy all the books that feature Ariadne Oliver.

OK, Kelly Reilly was Caroline Bingley. That was driving me nuts for a minute.

It wasn't Branagh's fault Artemis Fowl turned out the way it did, it was Disney.

90% of the bullshit came as a result from reshoots and post-production editing. The original cut was much more faithful, it had Artemis just being interested in the gold and at the end giving up some of it for his mother (who had been cast). Everything with his dad, Opal and whatever that magical acorn was came afterwards.

I wouldn't recommend sitting through a half an hour this but if you skim through it the guy points out how obvious it was that the film was butchered with editing and ADR.

I don't think the "Branagh cut" would have been great cinema but it wouldn't have been the disaster we saw.

Huh! I knew they totally cut out the fairy that gives Artemis The Book (it was Hong Chau and they had her in the trailer and NOT in the movie) but I didn't know they had cast Angeline.

I actually liked Cinderella so seeing Branagh do this was a shock, but if Disney had a hand in it (probs), makes sense.
