To essentially wish death on someone as harmless as Keanu was so incredibly unhinged, I still can’t believe it

Even more egregious now because they're neighbors!

Whatever this was super shitty and hurtful of him to do! He knew what he was doing when name-dropped him! I'm not here for these "oh I'm sorry, I was such a jerk 🫣". He got the attention he wanted from it.

Even if he was just using Keanu's name because he was pulling it off the top of his head, shouldn't the editorial reviews and other scans have caught that shit? I mean, memoirs and biographies really should have a legal team look over them because they invite lawsuits if they're at all libelous. So, the publisher really should have caught that if Matthew Perry was too stupid to realize how dumb that comment was. I feel like that's a sign corners were cut and the book is gonna be shitty quality.

I've heard sometimes of people telling celebs "are you sure you want that in there?" cause they know certain things will catch attention or cause controversy so most celebs take the risk.

Yeah, so I'm kinda leaning towards the opinion he wrote that on purpose knowing that it was mean and now this is the PR cleanup. There ARE people who write/talk before they think through the consequences and I will believe them when they say that but this doesn't seem to read like that to me at all. It is ironic though because people could say the same sort of thing about him that he tried to imply about Keanu.
