I knew his bitch ass was going to do that bc he thinks he’s funny and trying to prove a point but as usual he fails terribly

So funny watching Twitter slowly collapse in on itself lol I’m waiting for the next sm to pop up and everyone goes on there instead but let’s make the next one a simplified version of Twitter so we don’t have so much discourse and hot takes + more funny memes please

Shutting down the discourse factory is definitely a positive. Way too many journalists were pulling 'social commentary' stories based on tweets. Also all the hot takes that would generate days long commentary, then you'd actually look for the originating tweet and it was from a 16 year old with 50 followers.

Plus I think it would cut down on the arguing people do so much. Like they’re name calling each other over a disagreement on something so ridiculously pathetic to have multiple replies back and forth to

I think that woman posting about how she enjoys spending time in her yard with her husband caused some people to get upset was peak Twitter and it’s really all downhill from here

Yeah, they're more explicit examples of narcissists. They have inferiority complexes and can't do anything right, and they just want attention and public approval/love/validation. Unfortunately, they're assholes who had/have some level of power and influence, so they love their supporters but hate their haters. So many leaders, whether in politics or in the workplace, are just like them because the competent people who would make good leaders think they're not good enough, so they never dare move up. They have some insight on their limitations. Then, you have these assholes who make up their incompetence with confidence and think they're good leaders because they lack insight, and people pay the price with toxic work environments (which Elon's employees have dealt with) and shitty laws/policies (DeSantis and 45). Sometimes, I wish leaders in power or in politics/business would get psychological assessments done or get screened to get their jobs, but then they'll pull the discrimination card.

Update for the day after: just before the purge yesterday, 19,469 of the 407k legacy verified accounts I had identified in early April had Twitter Blue. Today that number for those same accounts is 19,497, for a net increase of 28 accounts.

if you search "filter:verified" a bunch of accounts that no longer have checkmarks anymore still show up, so someone yesterday thinks that they didn't actually change any of the backend coding in the system and just cosmetically hid the checkmarks. just pathetic

apparently they’d have to go through and remove each checkmark one by one so this doesn’t surprise me lol
