I finished Beef last night, really enjoyed it. I’m glad that he’s been doing so well post-TWD lately. I wonder why Okja wasn’t one of the films mentioned here though.

Has he, Ali, or the other executive producers of Beef released a statement about hiring a rapist yet?

MOOD!

Blah blah parasocial relationship, but I LOVED this man since his career started. Seeing his star power rise the way it has, has been a dream. He has the looks, charisma, humor, TALENT, and awesome personality.

But honestly, the fact that it's still radio silence on the David Choe situation, tells me everything I need to know. If his career suffers (and it might will especially since he's not white, it's deserved sry2say).

I may still hold unto the hope that he does say something, BUT it better be a damn good statement plus compensation to abuse victim organizations.

Throwing all your public goodwill for your rapist friend? YIKES.

SUPPORT GROUP FOR US :'( literally, before this mess all came out, I proudly boasted to my friends that I loved him since TWD (lol parasocial af here as well). I truly wanted to give him and Ali the benefit of the doubt. Especially because as an Asian American, it's been so poignant seeing other East Asians that look like me tell original and brilliant stories.

I'm just really blown away by how disappointing this all is. I know, celebrities ain't shit and perhaps this is also playing into how representation ain't all that. But damn, idk, like. Representation also matters! Like, no one, literally no one on Ali's, Steven's, and Netflix's teams didn't pipe up and say, "Maybe it's a bad idea to hire this dude who's background is easily searchable and on his wiki page?" Like really?! For him?!?!??

Beef was phenomenal, easily one of the best shows I've watched. No idea he had such a beautiful singing voice <3
