The book is cutesy but basically a history version of Night Circus: cute and pretty and empty.

honestly, I love the Night Circus lol. the writing is beautiful. It's not plot-heavy but people are exaggerating when they act like it has no plot at all. it does prioritize writing style over plot, but I didn't have a problem with that. Curious what you'll think after trying to read it a second time.
