Does this show veer into alt/counterfactual history, because didn't Catherine dispose of her husband pretty sharpish in our timeline? Or does it take place in the 15 or so years of their marriage before she deposed him? Asking because I've never watched, but am tentatively interested because of the actors involved and am wondering how much I have to suspend my disbelief (esp as a former Russian studies undergrad).
