96 year old John Kander, of the famed Kander and Ebb team, has written the scores for 15 musicals including Chicago and Cabaret. He has won 3 Tonys, 2 Emmys, 2 Grammys, and 1 Olivier (he has been nominated for two Oscars but hasn't won yet). I was listening to a Spotify playlist and a song from the Bring It On musical came on and I was like '...Lin Manuel Miranda must have written this." His style is soooo distinctive. I feel like now I can pick it everything he does sounds the same...

Still a fan of Hamilton though.

Miranda sitting there seething that attention wasn’t on him for a moment. Lol. What a prick. I’m glad that particular water is returning to its level. He got such a huge push but his shitty personality and the fact that his work sucks (“Hamilton” was always embarrassing and if you’re still defending it, you need to address why and take steps to remediate your taste) was finally noticed.

I want to buy tickets to the touring Beetlejuice production but apparently there might be a strike that’ll affect the touring shows? So I guess I’m gonna have to hold off.

You can read more about the strike here but the key point is that people (both cast and crew) get paid a lot less on secondary tours ( ... )
