Another good episode with a WTF final scene.
Edit to add: Young Nat finally has roots, the lack of dark roots was bugging me. And I did have the thought that [Spoiler (click to open)] Sammy was in the basement 🫣 glad that wasn’t the case

Up until this point, I was wondering if Taissa was dissociating and doing things when she was blacked out, but after this episode it seems like she's hallucinating.

Last week she claimed not to know what Simone was talking about but when she crawled into the hole in the basement, she didn't seem surprised by what she found so I still have no idea what's going on with Taissa's mental state.

That struck me as odd too, because we saw the [Spoiler (click to open)]Biscuit altar last season. Maybe it’s a plot hole? Or maybe she was looking to see if she if there was any, um, additions since the last time she was there.

I think Tai is dissociating and hallucinating, and the notion/theme that the wilderness is coming back is ramping that up.

All of the night scenes were way too dark. I get it. They're in a cabin without electricity at night and they're outside at night, but good lord, do you want me to guess what's happening?

I was watching on my laptop and I had the screen brightness turned all the way up and some of those night scenes were just black with dark shadows. My friend was watching at the same time (at her house) and she said she had the same problem. I know some shows don't want to do that lame thing where they shoot in daylight and then just throw a blue filter on top of the footage, but this episode was really dark.

were you streaming this on which service? because i had the same issue with two episodes last season, one of them being the finale, that were streaming on this new streaming service called skyshowtime+ which is basically showtime and paramount rolled together. they were just way too dark compared to the others to the point where i basically couldn't see anything that was filmed in the woods at night. then i torrented the same episodes that were US rips and the brightness in the same episodes was completely fine. i think showtime might have sent some of their episodes to their international partners without the final adjustment in saturation, brightness etc.

does anyone have a theory about the symbols appareling everywhere, like at the edge of that cliff. the one in the attic seems to have been there when they discovered the cabin. are the rest being appropriated by the girl/girls (Lottie?). what is happening?????

So far the show's done a good job of keeping both possibilities viable - either the girls are half-crazed with starvation and they've convinced themselves there's supernatural meaning to random shit like snow falling on a pyre, or there's actually some ghost/demon/spirit shit fucking with them.
