I mean exactly. I haven’t watched any of his new stuff since Darjeerling. I say this with Bottle Rocket as my icon. That and Rushmore are the only films of his I like, before he went too far gone.

the color grading gave me flashbacks to 2007 coloring tutorials that would get posted on here. I even remember there was an LJ community dedicated to trash talking icon design trends.

That was the most Livejournal sentence I've ever typed in my life.

Yes I remember vividly! Icon colouring was serious business. Remember the tiny unreadable text trend? Lol

I wanted to be annoyed by his twee color palettes and stilted style of dialogue but that last scene, "I meant yes but my mouth didn't speak" FUCK

Anderson’s dialogue is stylized deadpan, I wouldn’t call it stilted.

I have enjoyed immensely The French Dispatch, Moonrise Kingdom, The Isle of Dogs, Hotel Budapest and Fantastic Mr Fox. I love his odd yet familiar world building. That said I’m a fat Black woman in the south…. Nice to meet ya. Huzzah 🙌🏾 🫡

Honestly he's very rarely disappointed me!

But yeah I've read so many people say he caters to one demographic and doesn't stray from that, but honestly good movies are (hopefully) more universal than that.
