I hate when these kinds of things are public. It's a horrible situation all-around. Each person should be able to be with their kids.

I still don't understand how her salad made more news than him laying under her car to keep her from leaving.

He’s such an asshole and this response is his bad faith temper tantrum in response to her lawyers filing in courts. He absolutely is trying to make this as difficult as possible and the fact that he’s lost twice over the same thing in 6 months is evidence of that. He’s getting his ass beat in court but knows he’ll always win in the court of public opinion

Him blatantly trying to weasel out of higher child support and using the family legal system to continually abuse his ex is gross and transparent. That fact that he’s doing it so publicly is testament to how much he knows he can get away with

ETA him running to ET again with a source makes it abundantly clear who’s been leaking stories to them

I really don’t have a dog in this fight, but she said things were going more amicably between them, so maybe Jason made it seem to her in personal conversations that he wasn’t going to do that, then she found out from her lawyers that he was and that’s when she felt blindsided.

I don't have a dog in this fight either so I have no opinions on which of the two of them is more credible, but it's a real stretch to view what she's saying as at all implausible on its face. It's pretty mundane and would still absolutely make sense if he had led her to believe one thing then done another. Shit can change very quickly in the middle of a difficult and contentious divorce/custody dispute - where people are often acting more on emotion than practicality - and there are umpteen different reasons someone might behave like that.

Something might have suddenly upset you and moved you to change your mind. You might hear advice from other parties - whether legal or just your loved ones weighing in - that convince you to change tack. You might engage in talks purely to tick a box with the court to say "I tried" while still convinced you need to file. Heck, you might just be the asshole who played nice while intending to blindside. A lot of very unsurprising possibilities.
