It's a slap on the wrist but at least it's something.

To expand on OP's note, wash trading is when a person or group of people collude to buy and sell assets for the purpose of fooling legitimate investors into thinking said asset has more demand, and thus value, than it actually has.

Literally every cryptocurrency does this or pump and dumping, which is a similar market manipulation. They have to do this because cryptocurrency is a scam with no inherent value. The only value it has is the value you can convince the next sucker to buy it off you for.

I'm going to refrain from going on an unhinged screed about cryptocurrency but it's so fucking predatory.
