Didn't love Nope, but I am looking forward to his next one!!
Christmas seems like an interesting release date for him - I suppose it's counterprogramming to family fare + smack in the middle of awards seasons, both of which could be beneficial. But it's also a very crowded time of year, so I hope it works out well.
I liked Nope but I heard his original cut was three hours and he had to cut it. I would really be interested in seeing a director's cut one day because the editing was kinda rough.
There was an interesting interview with him on NPR yesterday dealing with Black trauma and horror that was really good.

K this makes a lot of sense. I felt like the editing was off too. I also feel like Steven Yeun’s character’s backstory didn’t have enough context/fit kind of abruptly in the overall story.
Same! In a sea of sequels and superheroes, Nope was a breath of fresh air. I loved that I had no idea where the story was going most of the time, Daniel and Keke were fantastic, and [Spoiler (click to open)]the alien was rly interesting
And I love the Rage Against the Machine tee Daniel was wearing annd really liked the message of animal cruelty- which is weird tho bc he was literally doing exactly what he was making a point about- but I’m gonna go ahead and assume that they were handled with care etc. etc. 😁

tbh I was hoping the OP would make this post over anyone else.
Didn't finish Nope, but I still support, and thank goodness it's not during the same week as Sonic / Avatar 3.
