I mean daytime actors do deserve more credit than they’re given. They often have to learn 50 pages or more of script per filming day. But I don’t think Eva was trying to discredit that at all with her own personal recollection.

Exactly. The inference was clearly that people in corporate America wouldn’t take her seriously if they knew she was an actress (maybe she meant specifically a soap actress but she didn’t seem to make any specification of that, but regardless it wasn’t her value judgment). She felt she had to hide it, not because she was embarrassed, but since it didn’t pay enough, she needed to keep her corporate job and be taken seriously by those people, and she felt some wouldn’t if they knew.

He’s just an emotionally volatile hater who can’t handle that anyone might not think his acting is as worthwhile as other kinds and that she has been so much more broadly (and probably financially) successful than him (maybe because he legitimately didn’t respect her or enjoy working with her).

For the record she was on Y&R for a long while and she was a very successful villain. If she was as inept as he wants to claim she would never have lasted years.

I read his meltdown before watching the video so I was expecting her comments to be a lot worse, but it seemed more like the general embarrassment that a lot of actors have when they watch some of their earlier work. And even the part where she mentioned people not wanting their accounts handled by a "dumb actress" didn't seem like it was intended to be disparaging toward soap actors in particular? I don't know, but Victor can fuck off.
