Yeah, I'm really not liking how fat activists have suddenly decided that people with eating disorders are the villains in their story. Your problems have the same origin; fatphobia and the patriarchy. Not necessarily Tess, but a lot of the fat activists on twitter.

i was going to suggest that op update the post to include goop’s response to the backlash (which was some weak sauce crap about how she was specifically eating for herself and her chronic issues (long covid) with her personal physician and nowhere did she say it was a suggestion for anyone else to follow and how she doesn’t only eat broth and vegetables-she eats french fries too guys! 🙄) but then i saw who op is….

anyway i don’t feel bad about how bad people are dragging her. she’s been perpetuating such a toxic ridiculous lifestyle for so long and for what? to look like an upside down broom? fuck her

how was goop’s response weak

no one knows what her medical issues are, if she has long covid, she could very well be eating to help with that

I think the assumption that she doesn't have influence over people or not telling people what to do is her trying to skirt responsibility. She's a celebrity. Her goop brand is based on her influence. So her saying this is what she eats, people will correlate that to her body type and think it's okay.

I don't have much to say about this topic in detail (I believe) but I do think we are very invested in extremes these days. Food related content that is pushed on Social Media appears to be either very much only eating extremely healthy foods to the point that it's the only focus. Enjoyment is fully removed from the story. But the other end of the spectrum is absolutely insane mukbangs that contain absolutely insane amounts of cheese, fats and added sugars. There seems to be very little in-between unless you are specifically searching out people who try to balance everything out ( ... )
