I know this will be an unpopular opinion but if Brendan Fraser wins it will feel like a pity vote.

Idk academy always loves it when actors and actresses “ugly-fy” themselves and wear prosthetics and generally just play a miserable role. The Whale was an absolutely awful movie but I’d by lying if I didn’t say I thought Brendan was great in spite of it all. I’m sure there’s some voters who feel the same. But at the moment I’m leaning wan Austin win just because Elvis the man is too iconic

The way fans have talked about him all of awards season has been very infantilising and weird.

i don't believe that's entirely the reason, but it's definitely a factor. he did give a great performance in an awful movie, but the his angle this season is the comeback after a lot of really bad years for him on top of a good performance

It starts at 8, right? Is there time to watch The Last of Us an still catch the main categories once it’s over?

order of awards isn't out yet, one supporting is always pretty early but the rest of the big ones is in the last hour

Planning on watching this with my co-worker tomorrow morning, it's on at like 8am Singapore time I think.

I saw women talking today and it really blew me away. Totally understand why it is being touted as the snub of the season

I hope it wins adapted screenplay at least!

I think it really got snubbed in the acting categories. Claire Foy and Rooney Mara in particular were amazing.

I haven’t seen it but I had a feeling it’d miss out on acting nom because it’s a ensemble cast and that usually causes issues on picking out who’s getting consideration.

Aww, I'm kinda sad this isn't about a video by the NY Times where they dance their Oscar predictions.
