I didn't watch The Sopranos, but I remember the uproar. I remember a lot of people saying that they thought that their tvs stopped working lmao.

I literally screamed, “What the FUCK?!” when it went to black and realized that was it.

It felt like a giant ‘Fuck You’ to all the viewers.

I just watched Triangle of Sadness which has a somewhat ambiguous ending. Apparently the writer/director says it's like a 'choose your own adventure' and you decide what happens [Spoiler (click to open)]and i feel pretty confident abigail killed yaya but it was the last shot of carl running through the woods that confused me

I absolutely hated that movie! The last shot was so cowardly to me, like finish the story you started! It’s not the audiences job to choose the ending

[Spoiler (click to open)] It's pretty clear Abigail killed her. Plus Dolly De Leon and the director confirmed the kill. She did not wanna go back to a life of servitude...When Yaya tells her she can be her assistant, that was the point of no return cause she was hesitating on whether to kill her or not.

The final shot of Carl running implies that Abigail went through it cause he knew her well enough by then to see what she's capable
of.

I thought he was either running to see Yaya's body after Abigail got back and was like 'oops she fell' or he was running to try and escape her.

I like the ambiguous endings of The Thing (the 80's verson I never watched the new one) and Pan's Labyrinth.

I didn’t think Pan’s Labrynth was ambiguous, just very metaphoric.

it's so interesting to me that PL legit starts on a shot of the ending, but almost everyone I've ever watched it with or talked to about it was shocked by it when it came around again. It doesn't register, somehow? the ending is such a gut punch.

IDK, it's up to interpretation whether she actually went to the realm or if that was just her last fantasy while she died.

I thought No Country For Old Men did a great job just ending it without wrapping things up in a nice bow. That last monologue by Tommy Lee Jones is fantastic.
