Their speeches genuinely made me tear up.

If only more parents/family members of trans people were as half as accepting, supportive and loving as them, we wouldn't be losing so many people.

tbh I don't think I've ever seen a shade room post that isn't filled with hateful, ignorant comments. Granted the same could be said for any of these meme/celeb accounts.

good for them. i sincerely hope that trans people can hold onto the knowledge that there are people out there who will continue to fight for them, even if the overriding mainstream media opinion seems to indicate otherwise. fuck scaremongering transphobia and fuck people who let it pass for the sake of their media friendships.

As my own father fights for his life in the hospital, I had to remember that he raised 3 fighters & I fought to get thru the speech. Once D said the word "father" I just broke. Thank yall for showing me grace tonight ❤️ https://t.co/jhsx9fwxgW

Seeing how they care for and protect Zaya really touches me, especially because of what Gabrielle says in her speech - there's still SO much to catch up on when it comes to the Black lives matter movement and the LGBTQIA community and Dwyane being who he is in black male society and doing the work also is so important as an example. I'm so immeasurably glad Zaya's support network is not just thinking of her but wanting to do their part to help out in general for our intersectional communities.

They are such a beautiful family. I’m so happy for Zaya and that she has such great parents who love and support her.
