1x6: Imposter Syndrome At Alice's urging, Jimmy agrees to host a party. Gaby struggles with her post-divorce libido. Liz recommends medical marijuana to Paul.
I had a feeling because of all the sex talk and then both not fully dealing with their respective marriages ending…but I didn’t think they’d go the typical route. Bummed they did - as a married female with male friends (both single and married) I YEARN for more representation to normalize it.
I agree - we don't see platonic M/F friendships enough. They always end up getting together which is annoying. I'm still mad at Rob Thomas about S4 of Veronica Mars, but I love that Veronica and Wallace were always just friends and that there was never even a hint that they would ever hook up (same with Liv and Ravi on iZombie). We need to stop perpetuating the myth that if a man and a woman spend more than a few hours together, they will eventually develop romantic feelings/have sex.
can't decide if Liz's husband (the waiter) is fantastic or obnoxious... his response in a prior episode after she told him they don't like the neighbor made me laugh, as did Harrison's line about the waiter being a dick.
My heart broke for Alice, I hope they fix that quick so he doesn't have to move.
the ending was unnecessary... also, an hour after a dude projectile vomits and 30 seconds after same dude looks adoringly at a photo of his dead wife?! weird turn-on situation!
I still haven't figured out what the deal is with Liz's husband. In the first episode, I thought he hated Jimmy but was being really passive aggressively cheerful whenever they saw each other. I loved him when Liz told him that they hated the neighbor.
ITA about your last point - either one of those things would not be a turn on for me, but both? And then add in the fact that she was best friends with Tia? I'm guessing that they are going to try to play this off with he was really drunk and she was really horny, but just ugh. The only thing that would have made it even more cliche was having Alice walk in on them. Hopefully that's not what we're going to see next week.

She has her rocks, her kids, her neighbor's kid, her motherhenning. That's a breakdown waiting to happen.
Who checks in on her?
