David Fincher says ‘MINDHUNTER’ Season 3 will never happen.

“It's a very expensive show and, in the eyes of Netflix, we didn't attract enough of an audience to justify such an investment.”

Did I have hopes? Not really, but it's never nice to be reminded of what you love and that is gone 🥲

please, like Mank didn't cost triple the amount and viewers could barely get through the first 30mins without hitting home button. and how exactly is it a particularly expensive series? i don't remember any cgi or any large sets that had to be built.

that's a given. but don't be trowing excuses how it was impossible expensive and unpopular to warrant the continuation. the fact that people are still asking him about S3 is a testament how revered and popular the show was. the word is that Fincher just didn't want to commit full time to running a show anymore and wanted out so he could resume his film projects so instead of handing it over to another producer, he decided to end it there and then. it was not netflix's decision.

Oh believe me I wish it was coming back lol. What I think happened is he threw out a high estimate to reflect how much of his time S3 would take up, and they couldn't meet his quote, so that's why it's a "budget issue."

But that said I wouldn't be interested in the show if he wasn't involved anymore. I don't think many people can do what he does and I def don't trust Netflix to find a good replacement
