I think it's because he's promoting the Dungeons & Dragons movie

He did the gray man and now this one, two big budget films means he and his agents are getting the $$, which is probably his main goal for now. Are these films great works of art and is he getting rave reviews for his performances? Now that's a different question, lol.

I wrote the same above, he became very famous with Bridgerton in the middle of the pandemic, I probably would have chosen the "get paid" option instead of starting making indie/small movies with low budget, but I am not a risk taker and always try to be financially secure

He's right about the movie star thing, in my opinion. People seem mad about him saying it on Twitter though lol

He's right and it has a lot to do with how actors get famous these days. The box office has been dominated by franchises for the last 20 years so actors have become famous for playing the same role over several years. Audiences aren't seeing them in a range of roles, a la Julia Roberts in the 90s, and become invested in them as their character not as an actor.

That's true... But for men, I think it's also largely because Hollywood refuses to let go of older movie stars, and don't see a problem with not letting them age.

Tom Cruise and Brad Pitt are still being marketed like they're 30 year old single men in their prime, which means actual 30 year old men of that specific physique and branding are being shut out of those roles. I don't believe for a second that in all these years, Tom Cruise and Brad Pitt are still the only two men in the world who are convincingly sex icons for both straight men and straight women when Jensen Ackles exists. And as self-serving and narcissistic as RJP may sound in calling it out, he does fit the bill of being the sex icon that Tom and Brad were ( ... )

Agreed. Physically he just ticks every box for me. It kind of hurts to look at him.

he really is incredibly handsome, both his face and body are perfect

The study done on "perfect face" is such a stupid thing, every year there is a different one and always with different results (wasn't robert pattinson chosen as the "perfect face" last year?)

Still, I think Regé-Jean Page is unfairly hot

For someone who was the breakout star, next big thing he really has kinda fallen off the map. Dunno if he’s just being overly selective on his films or folks just realized he’s not that great of an actor.

I go to the movies to see the movie

Harry's impact!

All jokes aside, I kind of agree. I think part of it is because the film landscape has changed with streaming, where as I guess back in the day, the high profile actors were always in 'cinema' movies, and there was more of that box office draw.
