I saw a tweet somewhere about how they were happy the two characters never kissed in the movie bc it was against the over sexualization of black women in movies but I was really thrown off by the notion that in a movie about two people getting married you never see them kiss

That is a dumb line of thinking. It's a rom com, chemistry and physical affection are part of the story. Also, kissing isn't oversexualization, lol. People just say any damn thing on Twitter.

Twitter is so...either it's people like this or those that excuse deranged sexual behavior as a fetish. Like my god people, be normal.

Was this filmed during the early stages of the pandemic?

Why sign up for a rom-com if you don't want to kiss your co-star?

Former Covid compliance officer here… the only thing that stopped actors from doing an intimate scene was a positive test. And the sets were even more “closed” than they usually are. If you weren’t part of the zone A crew and needing to absolutely be on set, then you were waiting outside. Actors wore their kn95 or n95 masks and face shields right up until action. I or a PA would hold their masks personally in a marked bag then give it back once we cut.

I helped work on YOU season 3 which was end of 2020 and beginning of 2021, so pre vaccine for those who were non healthcare. We would just rapid test actors morning of any intimate scene. That season was impressive and we had a great crew for being one of the first major series to finish at the beginning of the pandemic.

Yeah it’s clear CGI. But look at Jonah. Can you blame her.

They had absolutely NO chemistry with each other, it actually weirded me out. And it wasn't because you never see them kiss. I feel like Jonah Hill doesn't make sense to me as a love interest the same way Michael Cera and Jesse Eisenberg don't make sense to me as love interests, because they so obviously and completely play themselves? Like, I like the Nick & Norah adaptation, but I wish they'd casted someone else as Nick - MC wasn't even BAD, but he's just... Michael Cera?!
Same goes for Fleishman Is In Trouble - I liked the show a lot, but the whole time watching it I wanted to see like, Andy Samberg playing Jesse's role. And Jesse wasn't bad either, I actually really liked him for the most part, but he's always so obviously Jesse Eisenberg.

I feel kind of mean for pointing it out like this, but those three are absolutely the same in that regard to me.

OMG I agree. Jesse in Fleishman as this sexed up dude getting all this attention post-divorce didn’t make sense to me.

Same. That was disgusting. The show could have been better if we never saw Jesse having sex/nude.
