It's strange that people need to be sold the delusion that actors who play friends/couples always have a personal relationship in real life. Sometimes (a lot of times) it's just work, plain and simple.

If I were expected to love all my co-workers I'd be perpetually unemployed lol

And there's an even bigger difference between faking in the context of a film set and faking on a red carpet where you're not actually playing the character. I genuinely don't care if actors have a relationship outside of their film/TV show as long as the end result is good. We don't really know what goes on behind the scenes and I'm not comfortable acting like I'm somehow entitled to another performance on a red carpet, especially when we don't know the type of people the actors are. That line of thinking sets a precedent where people - let's face it, women - are expected to act all nice and friendly with folks - let's face it, men - who could be absolute assholes for all we know.
